Laem Set & Laem Sor

QUIET & SCENIC | NATURE, CULTURE & DAY TRIPS

On the southern coast of Koh Samui in Ban Kao Bay, the quiet isolated neighborhoods of Laem Set and Laem Sor are well-known for their immaculate beaches, unspoiled landscapes and peaceful ambience. Laem Sor occupies the western end of the bay, whereas Laem Set shares the majority of the bay.

Large granite boulders line the shore of Laem Set, a tranquil region for beach activities. It’s a terrific place to explore and discover hidden coves and beach spots. This beach is well-known for kite surfing, and is conveniently close to other family-friendly attractions.

Laem Sor on the other hand, had retained a sense of timeless and rural charm. It’s also known for its most famous landmark: the Golden Pagoda (Laem Sor Pagoda). You’ll find coconut plantations, Thai-style teak houses and quiet roads in this area, and even possibly be greeted by friendly villagers in the area.

While you’re visiting the beaches at Laem Set and Laem Sor, be sure to visit the Thong Krut village. Here, you’ll be able to take a speedboat or longtail boat to Koh Madsum, also fondly referred to as Pig Island, after its most famous animal inhabitants. You can also do a boat tour of the Five Islands, or rent equipment for your snorkelling and fishing excursions. The Na Mueang Waterfalls are also in the vicinity, and are great for a refreshing dip on a warm and sunny day.
